Punched Bot for TROYART MUBE, Brazil (2011)

For the Troyart International Exhibition at MUBE - Museo Brasileiro da Escultura in Sao Paulo / Brazil -  500 artists got an 2D cardboard robot kit sent by mail for re-creating it.

St. & St. punched the cardboard robot and put the punched dots in an acrylic box. The only leftover piece from the robot - with the arms - was fixed on top of the box.

The interactive light boards of Benjamin Piltz - AUREALITY installation work with a link from various sensors and colored LEDs.

Capacitive  sensors in the surface of the panels measure the electric field of the  environment and the direct contact (even through window glass) and  generate web-like pattern.

The images are reminding natural phenomena and have a calming effect on the viewer.

The installation is accompanied by weekly-change presentations by five Berlin video artists:

When we met to discuss the concept of the Touch Me Project
we found out it would be better to put questions rather than
answers. We also found out that we wanted to create a game
using old TV´s as building blocks and use them to show digital
videos on analog screens. Every week during a nine weeks
span each artist will create a new TV-set-show in several
senses, a configuration and information of space. Streaming
images and pixels, painting the color of the room with electricity.
The game is open starting right now.

GLOW II: Rites of Spring

GLOW manifests from a winter’s hearth of cinematic program and video installation to a new program exploring the rite of spring's luminescence and life. Hedonism, transcendence, utopias (lost and found), idylls and euphoria(s) explored. Over 20 artists from Berlin and the international arena will participate in the program. The narrative program will begin every two hours in the intimacy of The Z-Bar Kino, while non-narrative works play in the main room throughout. GLOW curators Adam Nankervis, Gillian Morris and founder and initiator of GLOW, Leo Kuelbs.

The first colloboration show of the duo "St. & St." at The Foundry is about communication, also they explore and question the content and sense of beaurocratic systems.
In the first room of the vaults they set up an environmental installation where people are invited to take part.
In the second room Stephanie Gerners work "in touch in distance in between" (a photographic installation) is situated.

The featured artist James Edmonds (UK) shows his artwork called Sound Files. This piece will act as both a conspicuously integrated sculptural element within the concept of the installation and as a soundtrack to the experience of the exhibition.

After the show ended, James Edmonds collected the inscribed copies for the archiv, the images show the copies which were left blank.

St. & St. is the name of the artist team Stephanie Gerner and Stephan Halter which was founded in 2009. Both were born in 1977 in Germany and are living and working in Berlin

In their work St. & St. explore hierarchic and bureaucratic systems, standardization as well as stereotypical thinking that are all based on communication or the lack of it.
The transmission of these ideas is witnessed in St. & St.´s multidisciplinary practice.
